It couldn’t be a more fitting time to be writing my first blog. The brief moments of quiet in a busy December call for reflections on the incredible year I’ve had – in the throes of entrepreneurialism and the abundant personal growth that’s come from it.
As I plan my goals for 2017, I share with you the valuable life lessons this year has taught me and hope they will inspire you into the new year.
Here are my top 5 life lessons every woman should know for 2017:
01: Always be yourself
There is nothing more empowering than always being true to who you are. Do things your own way, with your own style, and be happy with you are. It takes some work to ‘get there’– you’ve got to observe your own patterns of behaviour and find what makes you tick – but the efforts will pay off threefold as you begin to really celebrate your own uniqueness and shine before others.
02: Always make time for creativity
Creativity really enhances your sense of joy. If you feel the creative in you needs reviving, perhaps take up one creative activity in the new year on a regular basis. Join an art workshops, pick up the instrument you’ve not played in a while or even pen down your business idea that’s been stirring in you for a while.

03: Surround yourself with positivity
The people around you and sources of information you refer to all influence your thinking- so keep the company of positive people and enriching ideas – read inspiring books and listen to motivational sermons – to shape your own mind-set to a positive one.

04: Observe nature
In the hustle and bustle of work pressures and responsibilities, it can be easy to forget the simple things. Observing and appreciating nature will instantly restore your value for life and keep you well- grounded and content.

05: Love yourself
You’ve probably heard it many times already – but loving yourself really is one of life’s most important lessons. When you truly love yourself, life will unfold to really deliver the best to you and even others benefit from your aura. Make this a golden rule and swear to live by it for not just a successful year ahead, but for all you ever do in life.
